Default 17's or 18's

Looking at some wheels and tire's right now and I like the FR500 Black deep dish with the chrome lip Only problem is they have the 17 x 10.5 for the rear but are sold out of the 17 x 9 I wait for the front. I can get the 18's no problem. But what do you guys think is better 17's or 18's

Dear god go 17's... I'm selling my 18" saleens and buying new 17" ones because YES it's cheaper for me to buy the new wheels AND tires (that are wider in the rear than I have now too) than to just buy new tires for the 18's. The tires for 18's are double what they are for 17's.

On top of tire prices 18s are HEAVY. My 17 inch DD bullits are FIFTY TWO pounds each (with rubber)! Thats nuts! I can't imagine what a 18 would weigh.

When I buy my new wheels or tires for the stockers I'll weigh my rear wheels, 18x10 + 295/35-18 tire and then I'll post it up here... Ican't see52 lbs being too low [:@]

If your gonna spend the money for aftermarket wheels, why would you get the same size? Go custom with 18's. Tires cost more now, but, they will come down in the future. 18's look awesome on new edges. Check my pics.

18s look 10x better but i regret getting them. They REALLY do effect performance pretty noticably.

And about the tire prices..... If i got 17s i would have gotten 315s vs the 295s i got... The width difference vs the 18 tire price difference evened it out

I have 18" FR500's and I think they look much better than 17's would have. I love them, except when it comes time to buy tires. Tires are expenisve, but you only buy them once a year and it is worth it for the look, in my opinion. I had 17's stock, why would I spend money on rims to get the same diameter. If you're concerned about performance, keep the stockers for when you go to the track, or get a set of drag rims with drag tires for the track.
