TPS, MAF, WTF?

TPS, MAF, WTF?
Ok I was at a Ford dealership with my friend today while he got his front brakes looked at. I asked the tech there about my car. I told him when I start the car it idles around 500 rpms then almost stalls. After driving it around for a while it will hang at 3,000 rpms then drop to 2,000 rpms and idle there. The tech said it is either my TPS or my MAF. I told him about the pedal mod from this site that I did on my car and he said it prolly messed up the TPS sending wrong signals to the computer. He told me to clean my MAF and take the pedal mod off my car and pull the battery on the car for 24 hours and see what happens.
So does anyone think it is either the MAF or the TPS?

RE: TPS, MAF, WTF?
First of all, pulling the battery off for 24 hours won't do anything.
Let the car idle and check the TPS sensor voltage. You want it to be as close to but not over 1 volt as possible.
Other than that, I would clean the maf, and then see what happens.

RE: TPS, MAF, WTF?
Ok well today I took off the pedal mod and it droped the idle to 1100 from the 2,000 it was origionally at. As for the start up it still idles at 500 and almost stalls at start up. Also I am a dumbass and forgot to put the spring back on the throttle so it will close shut. I will be cleaning the MAF tomorrow and seeing how it acts from there. As for the IAC, if all else fails I will go get a new IAC for 80 bucks. The tech just suggested taking the battery cable off to reset the computer. He owns a Mustang and he is a Ford mechanic and he said the pedal mod may have made the car re-learn it's idle so pulling the mod and the battery cable might help.
Also how do you check the voltage for the TPS?
