Default Red Line dangerous?

this may seem like a stupid question, but is it bad red lining on first for less than 1 second? cause when racing or accelerating very fasti sometimes screw up and this happens, like 6,500-6,600 rpm, it has happened a lot lately, i gotta get it right but sometimes i just f**k up. </P>

I've hit the rev limiter quite a few times. I'd just always check and make sure u have clean good oil in (synthetic) and always check your temp gauge. I'm not saying by doing the things I've listed will guarentee safe driving wiht hitting red line , but will help.

It's best to avoid it, especially on a stock motor, but you won't wind up shooting a rodd through the block doing it.

Wouldn't disconnecting the battery solve this?
