Default Automatic Transmission questoions.....( i need a new valve body)

I took the car up to the local transmission shop and the guy is 99% sure its the valve body that is causing me not to shift at WOT.I have had people tell me to get the manual valve body, what is it, what does it do? Also, everyone tells me to get a shift kit and a tranny cooler at the same time (tranny cooler is a no brainer) but, What can i do with the shift kit? Im pretty stupid when it comes to automatic transmissions[&:]Also, anyone know of a good source for the shift kit and manual valve body? the car is a 2002 Mustang GT with the 4R70W transmission, thanks

A manual valve body means you shift it all the time and a **** kit gives you firmer shifts.

the shift kit increases your line pressure to give you firmer shifts. similar to the handheld tuners, except the tuners run the tranny pump faster (which can wear out) instead of a mechanical change in the lines to increase pressure.

shift kits arent all that great... they increse line pressure but do not fix the problem with our trannys.
Contact SteveC over on 3.8mustang.com, he sells already j modded valve bodies. That along with a handheld tuner + tranny cooler, your shifts will feel much smoother and it will cost a little less than most shift kits.

Shift kits do similar things, they do not actually change the valve body.

from B&M's website:
Q:How do the various B&M kits work? What makes the transmission shift better?
A:We eliminate many restrictive oil flow controls in the transmission's valve body. This allows the transmission to shift more firmly and reduces slippage and shift overlap.

Exactly, they do nothing to the actual valve body. If you went with a jmodded valve body you would not need a shift kit...
