So I have attmepted twice now ting my tail lights, and no dice. What keeps happening is the tin just keeps bubbling on the sides, does it matter that is window tint? My buddy said they used the same stuff on plexi-glass. ANy suggestions.

Yes, I am pretty sure you need to buy the vinyl specifically for taillights I am pretty sure, like the stuff from www.autobadges.com

I bought the vinyl tint and found that it and the heat here in Florida were incompatible--it stayed on well for over 3 months while it was cooler but when the temps hit 85°+ the edges worked loose. I cleaned it all up and re-applied the tint twice however it only held for a couple weeks or less so I've just given up on it.If I get ambitious I'll buy a can of VHT Nightshade...

I went to Home Depot and bought this window film for exterior applications, had the bubble problem at the edge of the tints also but found a good way to apply it. Use a paper towel and dry the water out of the edges, use a small rubber squeegee and keep pushing water towards the edges and dry with the paper towel till no more water comes out. I did all my lights, even fog lights and havent had a problem with any. Been about 3 months and I live in Miami, FL. The brand that I bought for $12 at Home Depot is: Gila, glare control Window film, static cling, outside mount ...Smoke. They might have different brands when you go but basically its the same thing as long as its an outside mount. Nice thing about it is if you mess up you can just pull it off and reposition it, the film wont go bad. Spray on plenty of water so you can slide it into the position you want. And be very patient lol.

I'm doing rear shocks 1st thing in the morning, guess I'll go to Home Depot after that--if it holds up to the Miami heat (no double entendre' intended) it should do well here, way up North in Saint Augustine...

hey to help with the bubbling at the edges just use a blow dryer and apply heat to the edge while using the sqweegee to get out the bubbles... if you get it on good it shouldn't matter about how hot it gets around, put mine on and its seen its share of 100+ days and didn't come off
