Accels are pretty good for the price but I also heard that they are very annoying. I forget who I was talking to about it but you have to measure something everytime you change spark plugs and if you don't do it correctly it will break. MSD's are better, hands down, but the real question is weather they are worth the extra 200 or so bucks. To me, they are.
who ever you talked to doesn't have a clue what he's saying, everything is the same as with the stock COP's.

pesonally if you have one or moreweak coils i think these are an excellent alternative to buying replacements from Ford, especially since one will run you around 80 bucks. the only "issue" i've had is the little Accel sticker falls off after a week

Well, I got 'em in along with a set of Champion #3401 (single platinum) plugs--added like 37.7 HP before I even started the motor...But seriously folks, they do look pretty and we are all entitled to an occasional irrational self-indulgence. BTW, I had no fitment issues of any sort, their dimensions are identical to those of the OEM units.

I had occasion this morning the fully examine the mounting dimensions of the OEM and Accel COPs, whoever told you this was full of it right up to their ears. The spring conductor is a slip fit on the plug, and the boot is some 0.150" shorter than the full coil-to-plug depth; plus both it and the spring can easily be compressed another 0.200" to 0.350" before there would be any hint of binding or inability to clamp the COP down into the plug well.I doubt very much that they ever even held one in their hand...

Arey'all still happy with these Accel coils? I was looking for some feedback, before I bought them.

Thanks.

I was running Accels but I switched to MSD's.
Did either set really make any difference?

I have always read/heard that the stock ignition systems are already very good...
+1 I was led to understand that the stock parts were good also.

the stock coils go bad very often, at my dads shop we replace at least one a week. they are about 75 bux from ford so you see why aftermarket is so tempting.

They continue to work (some 18k miles later), and still look pretty. and I still have 8 OEM coils in the attic for backup--they also continue to notincrease power byone bit, but I never expected that they would... Re: the OEMCOPs being a problem, Ford said in a TSB I can't find just now that over half the coils returned by dealers are OK and were changed out inappropriately because of some other problem being mis-diagnosed...

I finally put the Accel COP's in my 2002 GT. Took care of the miss/stumble/hesitation problem. Cost was $203.00.
