Default I need help, massive coolant leak behind alternator.

99 GT 5 spd, was out driving today and when I stopped a bunch of steam was coming out from the hood. I drove home as fast as I could and once everything got cooled down I refilled the anti freeze and started it up and it looks like a damn green waterfall behind the alternator. What the hell did I do? My buddy says to check for a busted coolant bypass hose to the water pump, others have said it could be a cracked intake manifold which I hope it's not cause i can in no way afford that. Any ideas on what I should look at when I tear it down tomorrow?

Time to get a new intake with an aluminum crossover. Check ebay you can get one for around $200.

Damn so you are pretty sure that's what it is then? I was so hoping for something cheaper/easier.

take off the alternator and look for the leak with the car running.

Do I dare run the car with no alternator on it? When I run it with the alternator on it seriously looks like a little green waterfall right behind the alternator coming from up above. It scares me.

I would love to try that but with the amount of leaking I have going on I won't be taking the car anywhere, guess I'll just have to get one off ebay and see if I can throw it on without destroying anything important... damn that's bad luck, only had the car a week and a half..

Call the dealer. If they agree to fix it they will pay for the tow.
