Default vortech mini race/ blow off valve

I don't know much about either of these but I know that I'm getting a FMIC soon. Should I get the vortech mini race valve or can I get a blowoff valve? I love the sound of blowoff valves.

getting an acutal blowoff valve will vent to atmosphere instead of back into the intake track of the blower, and will require a retune.

The vortech mini race is a pretty good piece, its what I will be going to once I forge the motor and start making more than 10 PSI. Some people ahve problems with the stock vortech ones (non mini race) but I have not, and if you don't have problems don't swap it till you do... just wasting money.

a bov will require more than a retune, you'll have to swap to a blow-through MAF

Well you can set up a mini race to vent to atmosphere. Right now you MAF is right after your filter before the s/c and the by-pass valve is after the blower. To vent to the atmosphere you need to swap to a blow through system. That means you need to put the blow off valve before the MAF after the s/c so it is unmetered air.

Its just not worth it for the sound IMO. Blow thru setups are harder to tune and IMO the best setup is the draw thru. Thats not mentioning the fab.

nanaki you are getting extremly lucky at that PSI level, but I have also heard of people having problems at 10 PSI just like mine... it seems to vary car to car.

The car will most likely start surging.
