Default ok to drive with exhaust leak

alright ive had an exhaust leak with my car for the past couple of months.. jus been to lazy, and overloaded with work and school, and broke to take it to the shop... but it seems to be getting worse and worse so is it ok to drive with an exhaust leak... or does it do any harm to the engine? thanks

oh yea and the exhaust leak is in the passenger were it connects to the heads

you are loosing performance and possibly gas milage


my car kinda sounds like its leaking from there but i cant tell for sure [&:] everyone else cant hear it.

When you idle itll leak into the car and fill the cab with Carbon monoxide. That can cause serious long term damage to you bro. . . if you get sleepy at all or get headachs then roll the f'ing window down

thats probaly why i get headaches, because i got a 30 minute drive to work and here in texas its ****ing hot so i drive with the windows up and the AC on full blast.. and when i get to work i feel like shiit and i got a big *** headache... hmmm.... im probably gonna take it to a s hop and jus borrow someones car to go to work or something thansk fellas

I drove mine for 2 weeks about before I could finally get time/parts to fix it. We'll see if there are any positive effects besides sounding a million times better.

i dont know if its true or not, but i heard somewhere that if its a leak is coming out of the exhaust manifold and if its bad enough it can cause dmamage to the exhaust valves, is this true?

Hey, the SLP mids seem to leak from the cats, I replaced the SLP gasket with and OEM and that didnt do anything, so I took of the the cat clamps, and it is exhaust colored around the cuts to pinch them down, just thought i'd let ya know.

If cold air goes back in through the leak it can warp the valves.
