Default 3v or 4v swap?

Should I go with a 05-07 3V motor swap or do the 4v Cobra/Mach engine swap? No S/C, just a plain ole 4v??? Both are roughly same price for complete swaps. Tell me what you think! I have a bent valve in my non-pi from NOS

Same price? Sounds like an easy answer 4v.

I agree if they are the same price I would say teh 4v. Seems a little weird, you would think that the 4v would be more. If you ever want to do a cam swap it will be at least. If your plans are to build an N/A monster remember you have to buy twice as many things for the 4v.

I would think that the 3V would be a much bigger pain in the *** in terms of ECU, wiring harness and cam timing than a 4V. Plus 4V is more badass in my opinion, why'd the new shelby have 4V heads when the rest of stangs are getting 3Vs?.....that should be a clue for you....

plus, I've seen a 3V under a new edge hood and it noticeably looks like it doesnt belong....not that that has anything to do with performance, but a 4V looks perfectly at home under a new edge hood....ie cobras/mach1s

my $.02

You need a new EEC and wiring harness for the cobra swap as well.

i know that ....

I just think that it would be a bigger problem for a 3V swap in terms of wiring....as the accessories for a 2V/4V are basically the same...its the engine part thats slightly different....do you know if all the accessories for a 2V would hook right up to a 3V wiring harness? Maybe they do, but i just think that because the 96-04 2V/4Vs are totally different cars than an 05+ 3V it would lead to more headaches....

if you have the knowledge/experence to do a 3v/4v swap, you can do a PI swap yourself as well.

Instead of spending literally thousands and thousands on a 3v/4v motor swap (they are EXPENSIVE, check out the ebay listings, unless they are ragged out). Instead, why not swap a PI engine from a 99-04 GT, and then supercharge it?

The two options are basically going to be the same price (from what I have seen, even n/a 4v engines are 4-5K, without ECU or harness). You can pick up a PI engine for around 600-800 bucks in decent condition, and a MPH kit with tune will run around 3900 to your door.

I don't have to tell you what would be faster... by ALOT. FI 2v > n/a 3v/4v.

if you go with the 4v or 3v... i say go with the 4... also dont forget the 3v motor has a electronic throttle body so it will be more of a pain in the *** getting that to all work right.. and the motor has different motor mounts all together, and also you will have to make an intake to fit, maybe even an exhuast?
