A 62 mm ball bearing turbo would be amazing for you, and with plenty more potential

You need a 100+ mm turbo and run 30 lbs of boost on your stock shortblock. It'll be a blast, for 5 seconds.

also i forgot to mention if i go turbo route it will be a DIY/junkyard setup. i have decent fabrication skills. is there any junkyard turbo that i could use that will keep me in the 400 to 500 horse range. ie maybe a diesel turbo or something.

i dunno about the turbo... alot of people complain about needing it to spool (unless you get 2 smaller ones) and say they prefer a twin screw for the low end on the mustang. but thats IMO. usually if youre past 400HP you should get forged internals anything near 450-500 youre on borrowed time. and with that power you should look into tranny upgrades so that doesnt crap out. most people wait for their stock tranny to go and replace it with a beefier one (saves money and time in my opinion) but good luck.

yea i know that i plan on a tko 500 in the future. and i plan on making 500 on forged internals. i know if i dont get a HUGE single turbo i wont have to worry too much about lag. i figured maybe like a single t4 would be fine for 400 to 500 horses. i want a single turbo because i would be doing it myself and its alot less work. ie half the lines, half the fabrication for piping, whatever else.

Get a Master Power T70 turbo with a .68 a/r. It will run you about $585-$630. Remember though, even DIY turbo kits get expensive on our cars. Don't forget to get a tubular k-member, a-arms, and coilover unless you don't mind hitting everything! For exhaust manifolds, look into Turbocharged Innovation. The guy will make you some ceramic turbo manifold for $650 and they are great quality. As for using a junkyard turbo, I have seen many on older mustangs but not new edges. It's probably not a good thing to do, and it won't make as much power.

Since you are interested in turbos, go to theturboforum.com. They have a modular sections with tons of experienced guys running turbos.

if you do get a junkyard turbo ( i reccomend 2 T3's) make sure it hasnt seized up and that it doesnt wobble or anything when it spins. save you the hassle of a rebuild that would be more than its worth.
