tranny/rear diff fluid for 200 mustang gt
this is my first post on the forums. i do not own a mustang now, b ut want to get one after i get back from iraq. gotta love the torque. anyways, my buddy has a 2004 gt, and we are wondering what fluid he needs for his tranny/rear diff and also how much in each. all we really have access to here in germany is royal purple. their site says 10w40 for tranny and 75/90 for rear diff. was wondering if other people used royl purple with good results. also, he doesnt have an owners manual and his chiltons is in household goods shipment which hasnt arrived yet, so we dont know how much to buy. i think 2 quarts tranny and 2 of differential should be enough, but we want to make sure. thanks in advance for the help guys

Royal Purple is the choice stuff among racers, but much of what they sell is very thin (making more hp).
The trans takes trans fluid, not motor oil.
Lastly, if you're into torque, you don't want a 4.6L Mustang. They're quite weak on low-end power. My '01 runs great, but is annoyingly weak down low. I'm planning to stab in some lower gears to help the problem. Wish I could afford a blower instead though!
