I have a 1998 Gt convert. well its been raining very heavy for the past three days. well this morning when driving home i haerd water splashing around. wellI looked in the rear inside where the top folds into and it was soaked in there. were would it be leaking and how to fix. thanks

Convertable tops need attention from a professional. I say look up a reputable shop and have it looked at.

I have had 4 fvert and all of them have done the same thing. I would like to know also why this happens. i can't find a tear or leak anywhere.

most likely cause is the seams that seal the back window have seperated. youll probably just need to get a new rear window, cause when mine was busted out, they had to take out all the little cloth interior pieces and lower convertible piece thats under the window, and replace all of it. if you call safelite autoglass they quoted me 2002 gt convertible, for almost 1200 bucks!! i found a reputable shop that did it for 600 and give you a prorated warranty.

your rear window seal is leaking, vert tops tend to need replacing every 7-10 yrs even if well taken care of...you have to replace the entire rear section not just the glass or you could try and squirt some clear silicone around the edge of the glass if you don't have the cash to replace at this time.

replacing the glass (at least on 99+) includes the entire rear section. it comes with the work. the 600 quote was for the window, cloth lining, seals, rear section of the vinyl top and heat treatment. also, the pistons in the verts have a nut on them or something that loves to come loose(according to the worker) when you have it replaced ask them to loosen it and tighten it with loctite. otherwise it can shatter your window.

yeah But I dont see where its leaking and its not like a little bit of water its a puddle. Someone told me that it could be a drain plug the could be clugged up. have you heard anything like that if so where would it be.

thats a nice fix... Kinda like trading in a $100 bill for a $50 bill! hehe.
