Default I'm ready to destroy myTachometer! HELP!

[:@]I need some help with my tach andtach adapter install.I have install a aftermarket tachometer and a autometer tach adapter on my 1999 GT 4.6 coil on plug ride and I am still having trouble with the Tach jumping all over the place when running.I install the tach the following way,
black to ground
red to power only when ignition is turned
white to dash light fuse
green to gray on tach adapter

tach adapter install,
black to ground
red to power only when ignition is turned
gray to green on tach
red/green to coil #1 positive wire

Please help I'm ready totoss both units off the side of the Chesapeake bay bridge

Nothing, but have install new gears and some other things to car and would like to have the tach upon dash so Idon't have to look down when trying to see rpm's

My tach adaptor goes to the crank sensor itself....(2 wires..)Ford tach adaptor...

According to the wiring,,you must cut the 12 volt coil wire,seperate them ,,install red(not 12 volt ignition hot)on one end and the other end goes the red/green...Think thats your prob.. RED does not go (tach adaptor) to ignition hot....

call autometer and they should have tech line and if that dont work pm me and ill check how i wired mine up for you
