fellas, another thing im considering is the diablo chip. can someone tell me about this thing. Im new to the chip upgrade. Where do i get it, how do i install it, how much is it and what can i expect from it. also, will this thing degrade my fuel economy. just a concern.

you can get it a ur local tuner, you can expect to pay about $500(give or take a few depending on which chip), you can expect more hp(depending on your mods), better gas mileage... the website will explain it better than i could...

IF you are not done moding a chip = pointless. If you want to still get a chip, for less money then a chip you can get a hand held tuner that will be able to use until you really start making power. It will also let you adjust speedo, rpms, shift points (auto),.... And a handehld tuner can get custom programs right from the manufacture to work with your car. There are a few shops around here that deal with Diablo and a few that deal with SCT. They can dyno tune the car and give me a custom program for my car that will work with my tuner

silverGT, what your saying is, if im still gone do more upgrades, then dont bother getting the chip?

i saw 2 different options available at diablo. they got this predator kit and then they have this chip that you jsut install and thats the end of it. If I was done modding, then what, go with that chip then?

Get the predator if you are not done modding. I have a predator and it works very well.

The chip as in "just" a plugin chip, isn't worth the money if you are still going to mod the car. The chip will be a generic tune and won't offer any program modifications unless it is reburned.

You can find predators for under 350 if you look hard enough and they will net you about 8rwhp on a near stock car. More if you tune for your set-up (CAI, TB, Plenum, Exhaust....)
