Default what does it mean when...

ok. if im sitting still and i push the clutch in and move the shifter into gear, the car lurches forward. I have a Steeda clutch adj. kit. Do i need to put some more tension on the cable? Or what??

Yup...How much freeplay does the pedal have? Push on the clutch pedal with yourindex fingeruntil it feels like you're fighting the clutch spring--it should be 1" to 1-1/4", 1-1/2" max...

Or...the clutch is shot....
Well, not really--if the clutch was "shot" it wouldn't drag with the pedal depressed--it would slip when engaging. Dragging when supposedly "thrown out" indicates a loose cable/actuating mechanism; it's not a loss of engagement, it's too much engagement...

I know this is old but I notice sometimes that my car does this. I think the clutch cable and everything is stock. PO said clutch was replaced about 20k ago. Not really sure how to adjust it. I tried the clutch pedal lift thing, but the pedal wouldnt move up at all.
