4.10’s
Yea but the difference in 3.27 and 3.55 isn't that much. Seriously, MANY people have slapped 3.73's on their 4.6 and wish they went with 4.10, and I even know some who went with 4.10 and wish they went with 4.30's! The changing gears part with 4.10's is no different then the way you shift in a Honda Civic for examplt, the final drive ratio in 1st thru 3rd is about the same. The shift speeds through normal driving will be the same as a Civic. No one complains they have to shift a Civic too much! Listen, I would NEVER run 4.10's in a 5.0, but until you drive a 4.6 with 4.10's you won't understand. It doesnt feel any more steep than 3.73's do in a 5.0.

***By the way, this is only applicable to the 4.6 mustangs that, compared to the 5.0's, have larger tires, lower overdrive ratio's in the tranny, and breath better on the top end***

I have to agree with you valdosta. I went with 3.73 in my 2001 GT, and afterwards I wished so bad that I had went with 4.10 at least. 3.73 is a noticeable difference, but trust me, nothing too special. I gained about 2 tenths in the 1/8 mile from it too, but I could have gotten more with the 4.10. At about 75, I was running right at 1900-2000 RPM with 3.73 gears. Should've went with 4.10. Nowif you go with 3.55, that's a waste of money IMHO because you can get lower gear at the same price. Trust me, 4.10 isn't too much for the street at all. And no problems with shifting either.Just my $.02.
