If you have warranty, say goodbye to it when you have an engine or tranny problem. They will get you for gears and I don't care what you have heard. I have three members of family that are Directors of Service in dealerships all around Florida, and after hearing stories about pissed off customers, I decided against gears. Sure, you can take them out first before service, but they can track it anyways. Just wanted to share my info with you.

Why would you let them open up your rear-end and check for aftermarket gears anyways? Sounds like your familywere dealing with a shop that didn't want to do the work. And if you took them out before service, how could they 'track' it?

Sounds like you were fed some BS or your family was dealing with a crappy dealership.
