i have had my gt for a month now with no troubles, untill tonight. i was driving at a normal pace whrn the yellow "service engine soon" light came on. the manual says it is for emmisions. also noticed a little irratic idel. now i have an 2002 gt with cai and an h pipe with no cats and mini turbo mufflers. is there a way to reset the code and see if it does it again, or do i need to take it in and put on a computer? i have a diablo sport comming will it tell me what it is and will it clear it? it seems to be running alright. thanks

Yes the Diablo will check and clear the codes. You can also take it to Advance or Autozone they will check it for free

i did put gas in it the day before and i put priemium 92 oct. will that throw a code? can i take the battery cable off to reset it before the diablo gets here?

You can "unplug" the battery cabel to reset it but I would just wait. Take it by an autoparts store get them to check the code so atleast you will know what it is. If you noticed an irratic idle depending on your mileage most likely its your idle air control (very common) but justget the code read and let us know what it was.

you checked the code and it says for emissions? or are you just guessing?

if you got an O/R midpipe sometimes a CEL will still get triggered even with mil elims...turning wrong, hitting a bump, whatever.

what code came up exactly, there isn't a code that just says emissions.

I dont know if this has been mentioned before but... you should probably get the code checked.

If you never got it checked before how do you know its for something emissions related, the CEL can come on for tons of different reasons that are not emissions related.
