What kind of stall converter would i have to get for comp stage II cams on a 01 gt. And where can i purchase one at a good price. I have no clue which stall converter i would need and which one would work on a 01 gt . What exactly does a stall converter do anyways. I was looking at buying the extreme energy stage II cams and it says I need a stall converter
What other mods r u adding? Anyway, find out at what rpm your peak rwtq comes in at and build the converter accordingly. For example, lets say your pk trq comes in at 4500, build a converter that stalls at 3800 to get the max benefit of your whole setup. People will say 3800 is too high for a DD, but IT IS NOT. I only planned on stage 2 heads/cams at the most for my car and a 3600-3800 was the best converter for that set up and thats what I ordered...perfect stall according to my tuner and it will stall perfectly at my peak trq once everything is tied in. As of right now, its still perfect for my current mods and took my car from a 13.2-13.3's to what feels like easy 12.6-7's now after the converter. Chect out Darrin Burch at www.bc-automotive.comas he can answer any ?'s u may have and builds awesome autos for our cars. Whatever stall u go with, u will need DR's and a better suspension to hook up again, so plan on spending more for that as well.

i want new heads too , but i have to see how much taxes i get back , if i get good i may just get a supercharger. Can you install a supercharger?
Anyone can. It's real easy, it's as easy as any other bolt on, just takes a bit longer . The only thing that's a little hard is tapping the hole for the oil line if you're using a Vortec. If you're using a self oil contained unit, like ProCharger, it makes it a lot easier.
