High pitch whining coming from under the shifter.Loud enough to drown out the engine noise. It only occurs with the clutch out and the car in gear.Increased speed increases the pitch until the clutch is engaged and the whining stops until the car is back in gear.

Any help is appreciated.

Throw out bearing is seized or unlubricated.

+1 on the TOB might as well replace the clutch while you are at it.
