Default Wheel size ???

Just recently purchased an '02 GT....no plans on lowering or coilovers, but would like to do a wheel and tire upgrade....what size am I safest with, without stuffing them up in the fender?
Pics also please.

Welcome, if your gonna stick with stock ride height you can go with as big a diam as 20". However that may not look too great on our cars, not to mention the amount you'll spend on tires. As for width your looking at 295-315 tires in back and 255-275/18's in front.

Do Not add wheel spacers. Wheel spacers are dangerous because sometimes the wheels do not comptely bolt down. Plus it is a waste of money just go with a wider rim. I have 18X10 rear, 18X9 Front. They have 275 in the front and 315 in the rear. I have minimal rub when i turn the wheel all the way left and right. I have a 2 inch drop in the rear and 2.2 inch drop in the front. Aereon sweet ride. My Gt looks similar only its black with Chrome Saleen rims. With the 2000 Gt spoiler moved back 3 inches.

my current street wheel/tire combo is 17X9 all around, 245/45/17 fronts. and 275/40/17 rears. the only thing i would change is going to a 17x10.5 and a 315/35/17 rear. fronts, you dont want TOO wide on a DD, you are just going to pull all over with every bump and crack in the road. it can actualy hurt the handling. 255 is as wide as i would go up front. if 275 rubs AT ALL, even "minimaly" its too wide. Nothing should rub, scrape, pop, crack etc.....

Wheels spacers are fine as long as you spend the money on the correct ones. The ones that have new studs on them are safe.
