Re-installing stock coils

RE: Re-installing stock coils
You have to have a spring compressor to get stock springs back in. I've tried it a few times but the a-arm just won't go down far enough to get them in. Lowering springs can be put in no problem without a compressor but not the stockers. If you ever do another set of headers use ratchet straps to hold the springs compressed before you take the shock loose. Two straps on each spring will hold it no problem.

it took 3 of us to do it we had one hold the spring in possition so it wouldnt fall out another hold the strut. then put a jack under the a arm and jack up the a arm and it all fell into place correctly

Finished it today. I used a spring compressor; only to find out I couldn't get it out after the spring was installed. We ended up compressing the spring and then using hose clamps to keep it compressed and removed the spring compressor. Then we installed the spring and took off the hose clamps. I was amazed that hose clamps could actually hold that spring compressed, but it worked. Headers are on, and the car is all put back together. Thanks for the help.

Yeah. My car sounds so incredible now. Its definetly faster as well. It was worth the effort, but for anyone wanting to install LT's be ready for a fairly difficult task.
