Default Rear Brake Problems

I have my 02 GT appart to do my rear brakes before I traval for XMAS and I am running into trouble! I got both sides off but I can't compress either sides calliper back in? DOes it require a special tool? My friends Nissan had callipers that had to spin while they were being pressed in, are mine the same? Neither side will go anywere right now and I really need my car together in the next few hours or I am screwed! Any help?

yes, they have the tool at any auto parts store its like a little box that you attach to a ratchet. You will have to spin and compress at the same time. Once you get the tool shouldnt take you long at all.

yes you need a special tool, the rear calipers have that two pins that you need to lock in and "twist" to push it back in.

When i changed my rear brakes i had to get the tool also, got it at auto zone for like 9 dollars. had a small prob withit though, i had to file the side ofone of the pins because the two pins were to close together and i couldnt get them to fit right. but it was just a minor adjustment and only took a few min.

Thanks guys, I actually was lucky enough to have dealt with this before on my buddies Nissan. I called the only place that was open and the 'Manager' of Advanced Auto had no idea what I was talking about! So I ended up doing what I did last time and turning it by hand with a pair of channel locks that took a **** long time. Well got it done none the less, and made it to XMAS! Thanks guys!
