Default Gears

I plan to buy 3.73's. I found a site(www.promustangperformance.com) that sells ring& pinion gears for around $200, give or take. Is this a good price? Also, how much would it cost to have them installed for me?

Why are you getting 3.73's? Whats all done to your car? What year is it?

If you arent doing any major major long highway driving id say go with 4.10's. And you can get them for cheaper new on e bay. And its usually around 250 to 350 installed. You're going to need to buy the install kit too though

2000 GT. H Pipe and Flowmasters.

And why? I just want that edge that will guarantee a win against the underestimated imports(Integra Type R, Civics with H22 engines, etc).

ok , 4.10's are alittle steeper gear , they make you accelerate faster. imagine a bicycle. when you are on the big sprocket its easier to turn , but your top speed is smaller. when you are on the smaller gear , its harder to accelerate but your top speed is increased. if you plan on heavily modding your car i would go with 3.73's because you will get to a certain point where you will be maxing out 4th before the end of the 1/4 mile. 3.73's are a great gear to go with, but if you are just planning to do a few mods and gas isn't a big issue with you , i would yes go with the 4.10's , on a lightly modded car you will be more happy with them. also when you buy them , i would not buy the motive gears if thats what you are planning. FRPP gears FTW. any more questions about gears feel free to ask i have had my share of headaches from them

also don't forget , you will also need to yes buy the installation kit , but also get either a tuner or a speed calibrator to adjust your speedometer. it will be WAY off.
