Default Rear end.. bullit proof?

so im about to install an after market blue printed clutch, along with gears and a full exhuast all at the same time. and my buddy was talking to me that while we are under there we should just go ahead and go with a 31spin carrier and axles..

from his experience he was launching on a slick or DR i dont remember and his rear end just **** on him at the track broke, it kinda loooked like the car droped duce.. hes just tryingto save me the greif..

is this a good idea cause its going to run me another 500$ in the hole.. and iv seen other stangs on here running nice numbers with stock axles and rear ends...

i havent decided yet but i have a set of welds that i will be throwing on for track days and havent decided if im going to put a MT slick or a DR on it..

and im also ordering 17 10.5 for the rear and getin a nitto DR on them for the street. i dunno how much wear and tear this is going to cause on the rear end.

just looking for some opinion and advice..

Sum it up:
at the track i will have welds with a Mickey Slick / DR
and diaily ill be on 17s with a DR..

the rear WILL blow adventually if u run slicks and laucnh it hard. some people have gotten more then 50+ runs out of the stock rear and slicks tho, but it could go on the first. just throw slicks on it and drive it till iot breaks then build it and do some suspension work then youll really be set

Its not gonna just automatically blow, with close to stock power. But a 31 spline setup with def be a huge upgrade, and pretty much bulletproof.
