110 octane gas
Recently a friend of mine showed me where they sell 110 octane racing gas at the pump, only problem is that it is leaded fuel, he tried to get me to use it, says he mixes about half 93 and half of this leaded 110, I am a bit concerned about this, as it clearly says unleaded fuel only, but he has had no problems using this mix.Any suggestions on this?

your car will not run any faster, you'll be wasting money. You want to run the LOWEST possible octane WITHOUT detonation.

Exclusive use of Leaded fuel will foul the cats, as well as damage the O2 sensors.
The sensors can take more than the cats, but if you always run leaded fuel, they will eventually go.

waste of money unless your trying to cure a detonation problem and in that event its just better to back the timing off. the only benefit i would see would be on a boosted car because you would be able to add a lot more timing.

true, higher octane is for vehicles with higher compression or boost so the higher octane you go the more power you hopefully are pushin through the engine. our cars stock should take 87 no problem but if you have a tune for 92 or so and it detonates on 87 or 89 then you want to stick with 92 and no higher. it has to do with the burn of the fuel.
