Not his reasons but here are mine,

I'm getting the parts from an 03 cobra for cheap, the tranny already has an upgraded input shaft, better feel of the vehicle, manual > auto in everywhich way and form on an autox/soloII/roadcourse, slightly lighter in weight, and the t56 can hold the powerlevel I'm aiming for safely without any further modifications.

i sure wouldn't mind getting my hands on a 6spd from a cobra...not for any benifits but just for the pure fun of it

yea but unless you're going to road race it where you really need to have gear control, I think it'll be more money and hassel than what it's worth. If you're wanting to drag the car then, in my opinion,an auto is where you want to be.
