Default BBK air intake question

I just bought a "NEW" BBK air intake off ebay from brotherperformance an when I got it there was a rust looking spot on both ends of the tube that connects to the filter and the air sensor on the inside and it looked like something had been scrapt through it, it was all smooth but it did not look like new or what ever. I email the sell and asked what this was and if maybe I could get some money back because I didnt want to send it back bc for one it would take too long to get a new one and two it wasnt that bad because it was on the inside and I was too excited and wanted to put it on right away.

Well he/she respondedand said they could replace it or give me a full refund if I returned it, but I didnt want to do that like I said, and they said bc all the air intakes have inperfections on the inside bc when they make them they dont worry about what the inside looks like and much as the outside chrome look. I want to know if this is true or not????? please give me any feed back on the subject.

Also after installing it I can now hear air whisling from it as certain gears are about to shift is that natural because the silencer is gone or is it just the sound of more air getting sucked through ordoes that mean there is a leak somewhere?

"Stock throttle body and plenum attached"

Mine whistled too, and I tightened all the connections... maybe they all do it.

Was yours perfect inside both tubes with no ,I guess they could be like, weld spots or marks??????

O yea and tighting all the connections stop the whisling. My really doesnt whisle all the time like I said it does just sound like its sucking in air....its real faint but as second is about to hit I can hear it and after it shifts it goes away again. Ok heres a good example, I can hear it constantly as Im pulling a hill, so thats why I just think its sucking in the air but Im just trying to make sure Thanks though jlw2387

Even if you dont have a BBK please let me know if yours was perfect on the insides I need to know because if most of you say they are Im going to try and get some kind of reinbursment from him/her. I do have pics so if you are confused I can post up pics of it but I just dont really feel like it but I will if I have to and you think it will help......

I have BBK there are imperfections, the whistle is due to the echo of the intake and the silencer gone
