Throw out bearing
I have a 2000 saleen s-281 sc. It has a gt transmission (tremec 3650). WIth 26000 mi. When i push the clutch in it gets a clicking noise. I was told by a few people that it is the throw out bearing. The car isnt under warranty anymore and i just bought it 2 weeks ago. How much do you think it would cost to fix. Should i just replace the whole transmission.

Throw out bearing
The throwout bearing is a $30.00 part. It slides over the clutch fork andpushes the pressure plate to engage the clutch. The toughest part is of course removing the transmission to replace it. Labor on a clutch change is around 350.00 at most shops, expect to pay that in labor to change the bearing. Clicking though isn't normal of a failing bearing, usually a whining noise changing with RPM isthe tell-tale sign of a bad bearing. Be sure to have it properly diagnosed as your problem before you pay out the a$$ to change it.</P>

Throw out bearing
It may not be clicking per-se, but a noise sililar to a click.(if that make sense)I had that kind of noise on my truck and it was the t.o. bearing. I replaced the whole clutch assemdly, but as mdvaldosta stated have it diagnosed b-4 you dish out the loot.
