RE: exhaust question
Mid pipes include x pipes and H pipes. There are catted mid pipes and off road mid pipes.Off road mid pipes will cause you to fail the emissions test in most states. Dealerships will notdo this work because it is illegal forstreet use. A catted H pipe with a catback is probably yoursafest bet.As for the brand, thats totally preference bro

RE: exhaust question
the stock exhaust is an h pipe...u can get a new h pipe that will be larger and allow more air flow which will give u sound and hp....that is the same thing wit the x pipe....u can get both types with or w/o catilitic (sp) converters....like biano said the shop may not wanna put on a x pipe or h pipe without cats just casue of the emissions problems...as for a "kit" probabaly some places offer a full exhuiat change for such and such price just to get u to buy all of it....u can buy each section individually...here's a link to american muscle and they have a nice article tellin all about your exhaust and the different parts and so on...

RE: exhaust question
hey bud, get your hands dirty. take a peak underneath your car. there are three components to your system. your headers, x or h pipe, and then the catback. whether you want an x or h pipe is up to you. personally, i purchased the x pipe.. but use youtube.com to your advantage. just type in mustang gt exhaust and you'll get your ideas there. then check out our sponsors websites for further detail. oh yeah, your better off buying stainless steel. as far as price/quality, definitly check out "pypes" exhaust systems.

RE: exhaust question
If all you are looking for is more sound, you could go the cheapest route and have the stock mufflers replaced with glass pack mufflers. AutoZone sells the FlowTech Glass Packs for about $22.00. I have Flowmaster mufflers on mine and love the sound, plus they should providesome HP boost. Flowmaster's will cost you between $75.00 - $95.00 each. Figure about $150.00 labor to have either set installed by a shop.

RE: exhaust question
glasspacks are cool and all for the money but depending on wut u do wit ur exhaust system like all of it, it coul;d be a newsence cause those get real loud and raspy or caccly..but if that all u'll do to it then thats prolly one of ur cheapest bets
