This is my first post, I got a 2002 GT 5 speed 2 days ago, and i already have an c.a.i. coming for it my my question is that i was wondering of i were to cut the two Mufflers out and put straight pipe in, would i see ny hp gains?? Will it sound mean or like crap?? The rest of the exhaust system will remain factory except for that.

Not really, itd prolly be really loud tho. I dont think youd like it. If your gonna do that why not a catless midpipe? Should run you around 200 or so and itll give you some real gains.

Mach1 is right, it'll definitely be louder, but it will sound like crap. Get your self an offroad mid pipe and a nice sounding catback.

I got my MAC for 140 and it sounds great with my flows. It depends on the brand you wanna go with.

ya I started my car while I was changing out the exhaust and everything but the headers were off. he he he it shook a house that was 5 doors down. annoying as hell though cause I didn't even step on the gas. no mufflers=annoying loud
