it's the max you will get on the 17X8. My bfg overlaped the edge of the rim when I got them.. I have them on my 17x9 now and there is stll no issues

Your opinion is wrong. They are not unsafe.

TONS of people drive on 275/40/17's on a 8" rim.
Nobody has had any failures because of it either.

Opinions are nor Right or Wrong. Call around to the performance tire shops and see what they say. If its unstable on cornering as many say...then its not good in an emergency situation.

i used to have 275's on my stock 17's.
they are totally safe.
never had any problem.
i think it look good because the rims don't stick out like when you have narrow tires on wide rims.

Unstable cornering has not been experienced.. Members have said they thought, but that does not mean it really has occured because of the tire size on rims. In addition, the people who said that they 'felt' like there may be unstable cornering admitted they had less than stellar tires.

As for the opinions are not right nor wrong.

It's my opinion that owning a Ford Mustang makes you a homosexual.

wrong

Nice mature example you came up with......no use arguing over opinions...lets just drop it.

I've ran a 275/60 DR on a 15x8" rim for a year now. I don't drive on them everyday(when I do go to the track they stay on for weeks though lol) and haven't had any sort of trouble with them. Perhaps the taller sidewall makes a difference but I don't think so.

I have 275's on my stock rims and my car sucks around corners. It is alot more unstable than it was with the 245's.Then again,i got the widest 275's that i could find,I beleive they have a 10.7 in. width, but if you drive the speed limit you should be ok.Definatley dont recommend them for anyone who likes to do any type of autocross.
