Default Do spacers help our cars?

"There have also been a couple of companies who have produced a 1-inch spacer, which is placed between the throttle body elbow and the intake manifold, much like a carb spacer in the old days. There is a power improvment of 4-5 hp to be found with a spacer, likely as a byproduct of increasing the plenum size, which is too smal to be ideal."

Sean Hyland is a joke. I have found so many mistakes in his books that I would be afraid to order a bolt from them.

a spacer will hurt you at high rpm, it will increase velocity which will slam the air into the bottom of your manifold even more, causing the air to be more turbulent, hurting flow.
