Proline race engines built mine, now MPH is talking over on the builds. They have a nice econo block that you should look in to.

In my signature I have the forged parts. I am using the stock crankshaft.

I think I've narrowed it own to MPH, SHM, and DSS. They all have had great reviews. I was really impressed with how much work DSS puts into their blocks along with SHM. A lot of the optional items come standard on the SHM and DSS, which is nice and they don't cost too much more than the others.

On the other hand, I could just buy a really good rotating assembly and either install it myself or have it installed because my engine only has 18,000 miles on it. Thats not a lot of miles at all, and the most it would need is a hone. But then I wouldn't have a warranty, and just the piece of mind that my engine was professionally built. It would cut the cost in more than half though.

If I buy a shortblock, I could have a spare motor

I'll definitely keep you guys in the loop on the build/swap or whatever I decide to do. I'm not in a huge rush since my car is still running fine and hasn't lost compression or anything. I'm already replacing the bottom end anyway, so what harm can it do to drive it for a while? I have already pulled my blower, so its under much less stress than before.

I am also keeping my fingers crossed that maybe I'll find a killer deal on a termie motor. This would be the perfect time for a 4v swap.

TRUE!
when i ordered my 347 i called them with some questions and they were complete a holes to me.
everyone in the 5.0 world says they're products are average and they're customer service is HORRIBLE.
not sure about the modular world, just on these parts of the forums to try and expand my knowledge a little.
the company i ordered my stroker from only does 302's and 351's so i cant recommend them.
hope everything turns out good for you. i hear chp makes good stuff too!
