I paid $330 for mine and you don't need that relay. These pumps are good for 10,000 hours. They will out last you. They are perfect for a daily driver especially if you sit in traffic alot.

The only problem I have noticed is the damn thing works too good. When I come out of the bar at 3am and its 25 degrees the car never warms up enough by the time I get home and I just shiver.

Go home earlier! Thats what us old people do. Oh wait I haven't been able to go to the bar since I got old... Or was that the other way around? Either way, I'm old.

I drove my stroked 383 carburated Nova from california to michigan 2400miles one way, "twice" with an electric WP and an aftermarket radiator. 10.5:1 compression 20mpg with a 700r4, stock 3.08's IN JULY. BTW thats through death valley.

I'm sure they are better than they ever used to be. I did this 4 years ago. And I know the current owner of the Car and it's still going strong. ( although it's a track car now) I drove my car everyday 18k miles a year. Id say that WP has about 50k on it by now. Case closed.

I've never really looked these up. Do they come with any sensors to let you know the water pump's motor is one it's way out or not pumping as it should be?

As I understood oxfords other post, its not as much about how much HP you gain with the eWP, but its more about improving your cooling system as a whole, and thus being able to run a more aggresive tune than you otherwise would be able to when your temps go higher. If I'm correct, he not only added the eWP but also did the coolant mod which improves water flow and circulation on your heads (water flows out the back vs. the front as stock).

Its more about the whole picture and what possibiliteis open up and what you can do than what just one single mod can do and what its direct improvement is.

Kinda like overclocking a cpu.

That may be the case, but you will also see direct HP gains as well. The belt driven water pumps cost your engine some hp to run. This is called parasitic loss. Any engine riven pulleys cause some sort of loss in power because they take power to be run. When you remove this drag caused by the water pump pulley and replace it with an electric driven unit, you gain back the HP that it took to run it.

Very true, but the reason I brought all that up is because several members were questioning wheather the $$ invested in the eWP was worth the direct HP gains. IMHO the direct HP gains by themselves really dont merit the investment, but once you start looking at it as a supporting mod for other areas of improvement PLUS the direct HP gains, I would say the investment is worth the money.

Oxford, why dont you chime in? How much more HP where you able to get out of your tune with the improved cooling system?

I don't go to dynos (waste of money). But I am on my 3rd tune with 26* of timing and still no detonation. I'm gonna write another one tomorrow to see what I can get. I'm still waiting for my gauge pod so I can put in the wideband and finish my tuning but as it sits right now I am taking down 04 cobras without much effort (raced 2 so far).

just amazes me how much suspension mods really help, and he doesn't have very many power mods... my hat is off to you sir!

I got mine in the mail from brenspeed today. Was 337 including the relay kit from Meziere and free shipping! This thing looks pretty damn cool! Although, its not going on till I get my forged bottom end. No point in installing it now just to swap it in s few weeks to a new engine.
