I'm sure it's safe with a conservative tune, but it's definitely worth warning people that you need to be careful with a PI swap and a blower.

you're not going to be able to run much boost with that PI swap due to compression if you want that motor to last
tell that to lizzyfan. he ran like 9psi or something on his PI swapped GT just fine.
You call 9psi a lot of boost? The stock kit comes with 8psi....i was referring to 10+psi. Plus, if im not mistaken he ran just the 8psi pulley.

Yea, you can boost a pi swapped gt, but not much. I'm running 8psi right now, but I won't up it untill I forge the internals with lower compression.

when the majority of stock block stangs run 9-10psi max, yes, i call that a lot of boost. so 10+psi is a lot, but 9psi (1psi less than what you said) is not. got it!

even if he was running the stock 3.60 pulley, i'm pretty sure he had a powerpipe which gives at LEAST 1psi more.

IF it was ME.... i wouldnt mess around with your current engine. If you can afford it and its what you like, i would go for the LS1, but i am a bit biased. But if the mustang is what you like, then stick with it! Get a forged motor and boost the snot out of it!
If only it didn't look like a retarded catfish and fall apart at 60K miles....
+100000, except my buddies 01 is falling apart and it has just under 30k on it.

Anything over 9-10 PSI isn't going to work on a regular stock PI stang anyway... so either way you need to pull it apart and rebuild. At that point you can run dished piistions anyway... so who cares?

Its all in the tune.
