Default RE: Brake light

Does the pedal feel mushy, or is there excessive travel in the pedal?

Only time I had that happen to me was on my '77 when the power booster failed...the brake pedal would go to the floor, the brake light on the dash would light, and I still wouldn't be slowing down much.

That's an extreme example...if you've got some higher mileage on the car (say, 50K miles or more) and haven't had any brake work done, might wanna check the pads at least.

I would say if they're constantly glazing, you should switch pads...get something better...even just some OEM Motorcraft pads will do the trick.

CHECK YOUR BRAKE FLUID LEVEL! The red brake light is more than a parking brake light.
