Default Need info on early model New Edges

Has anyone heard of a recall in past years regarding the intake manifold cracking near the radiater hose inlet? I had a colling system flush done on my 1999 GT and also had the thermostat replaced...Later that day , coolant was gushing out and it was traced to the thermostat/radiater hose inlet port....I noticed that the inlet was cracked....Since when does a manufacturer design an intake manifold out of hard composite plastic?.....The mechanic said that there was a recall years ago on it, and also mentioned that Ford now manufacters the intake manifold with metal inlets....My question, is it true about a past recall? If not, then there is a good chance that he screwed it up......

Thanks for the great info!!

I bought the car in Nov. 2006 with only 53K miles!! It's my first Mustang and it has been very reliable...Thank god I purchased an extended warranty because the mechanic quoted close to a Grand...

I'm not too mechanicly savvy...Also, since my warranty covers parts and labor all I'm liable for is a $200 deductable....I was able to get a warranty for it mainly due to the low miles the car has at the time of purchase.....The car was 7 years old which is why they only could give me a 2 year 24,000 mile coverage....I'm glad it took a **** before the warranty was up...It's too bad the original owner was'nt aware of the recall...

Travel distance from my house to the bus yard is 7 miles almost all of it freeway...87 octain helps....and I like being able to smoke ppl on my commuteafter getting my *** handed to me all day in my bus..lol

Are there any other recalls on the new edges that maybe I'm not aware of? I do notice every once in a while my windshield wipers will run a cycle on their own...A ghost in the machine?
