car sitting for four years
i'm back to the mustang forum, after a short break away, i traded my 93 camaro z28 for a 96 mustang gt convertible, the stang has been sitting for four years, it seems to run fine but was wondering what all i should get checked out, i already changed the oil, any help would be greatly appreciated

I would just do a complete tune up, forinstance, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, and........what ever else it needs

I can imagine that you would need to possibly drop the gas tank and flush it out. If there was any gas and sediment in there prior to storage, I can only imagine the gummy mess it has become. Imagine that going through your fuel lines. Maybe a new fuel pump too. Four years is a long time for parts designed to move, pump or rotate not to do so. If they used a fuel stabilizer in the fuel tank prior to storage then you will most likely be fine.

Fuel filter, coolant flush, you already changed oil, plugs, air filter(K&N time!), air pressure in tires, I would probably change the transmission fluid as well as the differential.

also check out the steering pump and gear box! I know show cars that sit all the time end up getting weird spots while driving like loss of control in the postion it was when sitting for a long time!

Also, if it's been sitting for that long, there's a chance you could have flat spots on the tires. Other than that, everything these guys have recommended should be fine.
