Default two motor swapping questions

When I got the VT longblock in my 03, I took the stocker out and its pretty much been sitting disassembled in my garage. My dad has a 1999 or 2000 GT (cant remember which) and now we're talking about building it up using the stock block from my 03 and swapping it in when its 100% ready to go so his GT doesnt really have any downtime.

question #1 - For those of you who bought a forged rotating assembly for your stock block...what type of machine work typically needs to be done to the block? Hot tanked? bead blasted? bored/honed? It was an 03 motor with just about 60k miles on it, which I had only really done a few boltons to.

question #2 - Being that Ford changed the water pumps in mid 2001, are there going to be any issues dropping in the 03 block? I mean dropping in the longblock as a whole wouldn't be THAT much different right?

You can have the block bored, honed, hot tanked, rotating assembly balanced and shortblock assembled for around $600. Thats how I had my block built. $1500 for forged assembly.

The water pump doesnt make a difference.

Is the typical machine shop able to balance the rotating assembly once i install it?
