slightly more than a stock PI due to the compression.

Well it sounds like the swap is the way to go.

Can anybody recommend a good shop in the
Twin Cities area?

I thought a PI swap in a non-pi 4.6 GT brought your HP up to what a stock Pi-GT has. Am I wrong there or what?
A PI swapped engine will produce more HP because of the increased compression ratio. The PI heads on the 96-98 bottom ends raises the C/R to about 10:1

I gained 81rwhp when I swapped in a 99 PI motor.
If I had to do again I would of just done a PI motor swap!

No tune yet but have only light driving and no trips to the strip. We did our own swap. I bout the heads off Ebay for 340 shiped. I spent another 250 on valve job. Head set was around 350 also. My heads were used and came with the intake manifold. So with coolant and oil and filter about a grand.

On 96-98 GT's, without a PI swap you better expect **** for power.. They are pretty terrible without it..

Did PI heads BBK headers BBK CAI BBK X pipe. BIG difference in driving. Havent been tuned yet. Still looking for good recomendation on the South side of Chicago.

Woah, you are running around with a PI swap without tuning?

That is a ticking timebomb man. Not only are the cams different, the manifold flow a TON better, but you bumped the compression up considerably.

Get that thing tunned, even if it is just a canned tune for now.
I was still running rich even after swapping the PI motor And all my mods. He'll be alright, just geting bad MPG because the fuel tables don't acount for the better flow. It's not a ticking time bomb, stop believing everything you read on the internet, and don't scare this guy into thinking he HAS to do something right now. I've see fuel tables and stock a/f with all types of mod motors and there's not much difference in the stock tunes.

The increased compression is minimal and wont account for very much HP, Less than 12hp. 10 is being generous. With my tune I made 81 more rwhp and I have yet to see "for my own eyes" a PI head swaped car with better numbers than me. It would have more to do with the supporting mods and tune than any bump in compression.
