Default Need some advice....

So I sold my 93 gt, its actually been almost half a year. I bought a 96 gt a few weeks ago, and I like it, really quick. Now previously, I never had done any major mods (like heads or cams) to my gt. But now, I have money, about 1500. So I'm thinking I might as well do something with it.

Should I do heads? the cobra 4v? I found an article, on this forums, saying that if you would do a sohc to dohc swap, you might as well do a damn whole engine swap!! BUT, theres are some badass deals around for s/c's *cough*

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/03-04...spagenameZWDVW

like that one. lol, its dohc, which sucks b/c I have a sohc. But for that I have a plan....

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...ksid=p3907.m29

is this worth it???? Me, a 16 year old, who goes to college and all but has no experience in swapping god dang heads, wants to take on this project. Should I do this or save myself (and my dad) a fat headache? Should I invest the 1.5k in anything but heads?

Also, one reason I really want to do this is b/c of the s/c. I can't find decent or cheap s/c's for the sohc engines. [sm=bs.gif]

Any idea of any kind is welcome, just don't flame me for god's sake, noobs need elbow room too [sm=violent053.gif][sm=violent053.gif][sm=violent053.gif][sm=violent053.gif][sm=violent053.gif]

TIA!!!

How are you 16 and going to college?
Anyway buy the time you get all the parts needed to swap all the crap on your car you could have just bought a S/C made for your engine. You’re still missing Front timing cover, fuel pump, lower intake and countless other parts to do the swap. The odds and ends parts will add up fast if your piecing it together and not very cost effective. Just my .02

First of all, thats a rape for a m112 supercharger.

Secondly, you will need alot more than a set of 4v heads to make this work. Lots of little stuff, intake mani, t/b, etc etc etc.

I graduated early...lol. High school wasn't challenging at all.

And ya I forgot to state that I knew about all the other stuff. Man I WISH it was just swapping heads! lol

So I guess I should just save up my $1500 for a s/c, or bpu's? I really want a supercharger for some reason, but now that I look at it as a big picture, I need to do bpu b/c whats the use of a s/c if you have a ****ty stock exhaust or other stock components. What do you guys think about this?

is he able to do the pi swap with a 96gt? if so, then you should spend that money on a pi swap. if you think shes "quick" now, then you'd be impressed with the results. run a search using the "search" feature on this site, for pi swap. im sure you will find tons of useful info.
