would i reaaly gain on my 99 gt with a k&n cai or a bbk, doesnt rele matter. the dealership told me 15% hp gain and the k&n website showed a dyno of a 99 mustang gt witha 10 hp increase, would i honestly get a 10 hp increase just from slappin a CAI on???

intakes do nearly nothing on 2v mustangs. you can buy a 40$ k+n at pep boys and remove the silencer and get the same gain as a 200$ intake.

on a stock 2v a cai wont do much...best to just drop a K & N in your stock intake and pull off the silencer as said above. A cai works well when you have more mods...exaust,bigger tb's etc.

Its more for looks and a bit of sound under the hood.

you'll get like 2-3 with an intake, 1-2 with just the filter.

ok so im still sorta new to this. but since i have an automatic ide lose about 18 percent to the wheels right? that would be around 211 horsepower, im not tryin to get more hp then i have. so if i get the cai that would up my rwhp to 214, so would that make my flywheel horsepower up to 263?

Stock car typically dynos something between 215 and 225 WHP, depending on the transmission. Figure maybe a few WHP out of a CAI/filter.

this is rele good info im getting thanks. so lets say im gettin 220 to the wheels out of an auto gt, would that mean given u add 18 percent back to the flywheel, that the car is putting out around 267 to the flywheel???

I've got the K&N kit, i'd stay away from the BBK and get either the KN or JLT. both have bigger pipes, and better material than the BBK.
MY K&N came with a dyno sheet of a STOCK 99 GT that gained 10 HP, at the same temprature, 5 minutes apart. Can't say i gained or not, can't really feel 10 crank HP, but it's nice that the KN comes with a dyno sheet. I also plan on getting a 70mm throttle body, i already have an accufab plenum. i'll see how it feels once i get the throttle body on.
I say get it because sooner or later your gonna get one anyway lol, every body does and you'll feel better with an intake under the hood.
