Default sc or pi swap?

By the end of the summer ill have enough to either do a sc or a pi swap. Ill have somewhere around 3600-4000. The pi swap kit i wanna get is the pi swap with everthing and the heads have Competition porting, competition valve job, Ferrea SS forged valves, 7000 rpm spring package, flow bench tested—professionally assembled also with this kit i have the choice of 2 cams

Rumpy idle, pulls hard from 2500-6500. Perfect for
strong N/A motor, xlnt turbo—blower camshaft

Rough idle, pulls hard from 3000-7000. Perfect for
12 lbs and higher boosted supercharged enginesthis kit including the cams would be like $3100 the sc kit would be like $3800.....Any suggestions?

Default RE: sc or pi swap?

i would just go with normal pi swap stuff and a blower

u can buy the pi stuff (h/c/i) for about $500 or less ... dont forget ur intake gaskets, coolant tube, water pump o ring, head bolts, head gaskets, and npi-pi converion plate (unless u modify the gaskets with rtv!!!)

Im running a sq trim, paxton intercooler, full bolt ons, pi intake, and soon to be pi cams. this combo with about 10psi will max out your stock shortblock.

If he swaps PI heads he wouldn't needadapter plates.
And to the OP, I wouldn't PI swap and then supercharge. I'd port my NPI's and throw some cams and a blower on if I were you. Ported NPI's flow just as well as ported PI's. This way, you'd be keeping your compression ratio down.

You won't need a PI swap to supercharge. Swapping '99-'04 Mustang GT heads, cams, and intake manifold is a PI swap. I gained 72 rwhp with a PI swap and tune.

hahaha yeah i knew that .... duh dave !!! lol im thinking of my situation where i was just gonna run cams and intake then a blower (still using the npi heads for lower compresion)

correct, u dont need the pi swap to run a blower... but u'll see more gains with the pi swap and a blower !!!

Default RE: sc or pi swap?

first of all i kno i could get the stuff used but id rather start fresh and i figured y not get the better of the 2 pi kits. i can get more out of ported pi, thn npi ported or just pi no? and the cams arent pi cams they are an upgrade to the kit thts y it cost 3100 so it says the stage I pi kit is 65 rwhp and the stageII is 110rwhp and the cams add an extra15 i kno all the hp numbers arent exactly true but i would think tht ported pi heads with better springs and vavles wouldbe more worth it if im gonna doall tht wrk y notget the best out of it. idont really care about the money and 4 now id rather stick with one or the other not both. And i thought higher comppression equals more hp so y would i wanna keep it down?
