When to get a tuner?

RE: When to get a tuner?
The second "mod" I did (after getting rid of the eBay HAI and welded in Flowmasters the PO installed) was a tuner (a Granatelli Fuego, misrepresented but not a bad tuner--much like the Predator). If you are serious about getting the most from your engine mods, and know or are willingto take the time to learn to tune your car), a good tuner/tune will always give you an edge over an untuned car. I use the Sniper Special Forces package now and find it superior to anything in it's price range (around $400).

ORIGINAL: 99 GT vert
well with a tuner you can change your octane to a 93 octane and get better power that way
and with gears supercharger or nitrous you will deff need a tuner

RE: When to get a tuner?
I plan on getting a hellion turbo kit after the throttle body phlenum and pulleys...probly late this summer and install over the winter ill probly get the tuner right before that so i can get dyno tuned with the turbo kit i know ill need it then...i know turbos are alot more money but its personal preference. I wish HP didnt always dick people around for 6 months to get there kit or id go with there twin turbo package.

RE: When to get a tuner?
You can get the tuner now, and I think then buy new tunes from Brenspeed whenever you do anything else to your car.
But, like said above, once you S/C, or anything else big like that, you'll want it dynoed.

RE: When to get a tuner?
when you decide to get your tunner go to the local dyno tuner and see what they work with and get that other wise if you dont you will be wasteing your money because if you want them to tune it you will need to buy the tuner they use

RE: When to get a tuner?
Yea first I would make sure you get the tuner through your shop thats tuning the car or find out what they use first. I have a Diablo sport and I might sell it since my local shop uses SCT. I paid $400 but will sell for $300. pm if interested
