Default Stock maf/blow through setup

Is the stock maf capable of a blow through setup?? I have a pipe that my boy had, already has been cut for a maf inbetween the throttle body and the s/c...I have and adapter and a welder and am very capable of making it work, just dont really wanna spend the money on a new maf right now and would love to hear that bov goin off. Just wondering if the stock maf can handle 6psi (8 on occasion) through it or not.

edit-the maf would also not be near any bends in the pipe, would sit nicely on a straight part of it away from the first bend off the s/c

Yes, the stock MAF should be fine at 6-8 psi on a blow through setup. Make sure you are placing the MAF after the Bypass Valve in respect to the blower. You can't run the MAF in between the blower and the bypass, your car will have all kinds of drivability and tuning issues.

You realise this is almost certinaly going to require a retune right?

Lots of money just to make it have a BOV sound.

Oh yes, it will definitely require a retune going from draw through to blow through.

A retune won't cost anything, the setup will go...s/c > bov > maf > tb , with the bov venting to atmosphere...in this fashion it will only be venting unmetered air so a retune isnt 100% necessary but will be done just for good measure. I was just curious wether or not the stock maf was up to this, wasnt sure if the sensor itself was strong enough. Thanks for reply guys[8D]

I pegged my 80mm really fast, but I was also running 9-10#'s. I have a piggyback solution, but I should've just bought a LMAF.

Were you on a blow through setup? Probably right though, should just go buy a new one.
