Yeah no s**t dude, yank everything you can from it while you can. I've never had any experience with insurance companies totalling a car...is it possible to salvage the engine and tranny for yourself if they're going to total it? At least that way you could build a super strong shortblock and look for another 'stang to put it in.

Major bummer about your car man, hopefully some good will come of it.

god im really sorry to hear about that i f&**^#%$% hate thieves!!!! if i ever catch someone trying to steal my car i think i would probably going to prison for a curb check american history x style.

personally i have never been that unfortunate reason being is i pull both of my coil packs when im done driving. and put them inside on my nightstand lol its worked thusfar. I have them mounted via high temp plastic snap clamps and they work fine might i suggest them to my fellow stangers.

Actually crimson that's a great idea. Pulling the coil is probably the best anti-theft method you can use. No spark means no start. I don't know if they make them for newer cars, but I know you can get fuse boxes for older cars that have a removable coil fuse, so you just pop that out when you're done driving.

I'd just pull my ECU fuse.

never thought of that. damage not as bad as i was led to believe.. frame is straight, no suspension damage, i already ordered a new wheel, tires, and got new airbags, etc. car should be back on the road in about two weeks.. going to repaint the whole thing. i also bought a 98 cobra full interior(black leather/ black panels) out of a 1500 car my friends body shop has been sitting since 98.. car was a wrecked theft recovery and only had 5900 miles on it.. flawless interior. got the airbags from there too for under a grand.. the police made a hellified mess of the grey interior i have now

Glad to hear the damage isnt bad as you had feared. I'm sure it'll feel great to get your revived baby back on the road.

f**king car theives! It's never happened to me (thank God) but it makes me so mad to hear about other people's misfortunes.

I got my '82 Camaro for $300 because it was stolen from this lady, and when it was recovered, the steering column was hacked up, and the dumbasses couldn't even splice the right wires together to ignite it. It had electrical problems since then and wouldn't run right...no tellin' what those degenerates did.

that car can still surprise a few people. The Duratec in those things pulls decently well for a car that size. Not as good as say, a Maxima, Altima, or Mazda6, but enough to race V6 Mustangs and stuff...
