Make sure they are PI heads and not the NPIs. I believe that 01 was the first year of the PI on the Vics but I'm not certain.

EDIT: Also, 01 was a Romeo year for the mustangs, but make sure they are the same for the Vics. If they are Windsors than you'll need all new timing stuff too.

+1, there are a few bolts on the timing cover that will need to be replaced if using Windsor heads. I think that there was 4 of them that were 8mm bolts and had to be changed to 10 mm bolts. I can't remember how many there were, but you can call Randy Stinchcomb at Liberty Ford and he can get everything you need...

By the way, I've done the PI swap and my advice is to get a whole PI motor. It's so much easier, you won't have that bump in compression (unless you want it ), and you can get a longblock with a lot less mileage that your origanal NPI. Ask sxynerd, he swapped out a full PI motor. Take it from somebody who has done the swap, just save up for a PI longblock.

I only paid 800$ for my engine plus I got a whole bunch of crap I couldn't use. The whole swap costed me 950$ with buy a new clutch and oil and stuff.
