generally speaking how much compression can you run with aluminum heads and an aluminum block?

it should be more than 11:1 correct?

I guess it depends on what's holding it all together.. That and the strength of the bottom end, but yeah, I could imagine it'd be in the high 11's, maybe even low 12's..

yes, do you plan on running on pump gas?

i wouldnt run much more than 11.5:1 onpump gas mainly to stay on the safe side. if you have an awsome tuner in mind for your build you might be able to get away with 12 but are you willing to risk that on a shortblock that im sure your going to be paying a pretty penny for?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you are gonna have to pull all kinds of timing to get a 11:1 or 11.5:1 to run on pump gas and even then you'll still probably get some knock. The fact that its aluminum, wouldn't be my main concern with the build. You'll be spending a pretty penny on race gas at 11:1 or above.

a good tune will make 11 to 1 runnable without knock. if not you wouldnt see all those pretty sportbikes driving by you in the summer time

i know guys with 50's can run 11.1 all the time. most of them shoot for 11.1 when going NA. i was just wondering if you can go for more with an aluminum block and aluminum heads
